Why Study Fire Science Technology?

Employment of fire fighters is expected to grow by 19 percent over the 2008–18 decade, which is faster than the average for all occupations. The role of firefighter has become increasingly complicated due to advances in technology, and global events. The scope of responsibilities and required knowledge has grown significantly and now includes emergency medical services, disaster recovery, hazardous materials incidents, technical rescue, building safety compliance, public education, incident management and more. The program meets or exceeds the guidelines established by the New York Emergency Management System and the National Interagency Integrated Management System (NIIMS) under the Department of Homeland Security.
