Katherine Copp Brown came to RCC as Instructor of Green Technology in September 2014. She is an experienced LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) construction project manager who successfully obtained LEED Gold certification for two projects: the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a multi-tenant industrial building with wind turbines and solar panels, and the new NYPD Tow Pound building. She also was project manager for sustainable construction at the World Trade Center’s Retail and Parking Pre-Tenant Fit-Out, a project on track for LEED Gold certification, as well as for several NYC Schools Construction Authority projects.

Copp Brown has taught construction management, green building and carpentry for two decades in New York and London. Most recently she taught classes in construction management and green building at the Steven L. Newman Institute of Real Estate at Baruch College, CUNY, and at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY. Copp Brown earned a BS in Building Surveying from South Bank University in London and an MS in Construction Management from NYU. At NYU she wrote an independent study into NYC Green Buildings and had an internship at a pioneering New York sustainable construction consultant. She is a US Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional.
