Why Study Philosophy and Religious Studies?

The Philosophy discipline will help students examine and develop perspectives on the nature of the universe, self and society. It stimulates and broadens one’s interest in the fundamental questions and mysteries that have always fascinated the human mind. Philosophy is recommended for students going on in such fields as law, education, medicine, and government. Part of understanding today’s global society is an understanding of the diverse religious cultures throughout the world. Courses in Religious Studies explore the areas of humanity, tradition, cultures and comprehensive worldviews.

Students interested in a degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies can begin their educational goals by pursuing the Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts and Science: Humanities and Social Science.
