Do you believe you have what it takes to make a difference on campus?

Getting involved in campus life through leadership programs will help you form connections with students, faculty and staff. Stop by Student Involvement (Student Union, Room 3208) if you have what it takes to make a difference on campus.

Student Government Association (SGA)

SGA is the official representation of the student body. The SGA is comprised of six Executive Board members: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Student Representative to the Board of Trustees and Student Activities Board Chair. It also includes ten Sophomore and Freshmen Senators. Consult the SGA advisor to learn the qualifications for each position. Student Government meetings are held on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 - 7:00 pm.

Student Activities Board (SAB)

The Student Activities Board, a committee of the SGA, initiates campus-wide events and activities, including Club Fest, Spring Fest, panel discussions and lectures, theater trips to Broadway and more. Joining SAB is a great way to become involved on campus, make new friends and have fun. SAB meets Thursdays during Common Hour.

Student Clubs/Organizations

Student clubs and organizations are chartered and funded by the Student Government Association. Most semesters, more than 50 clubs are activated. In order to form a student club/organization, there must be a minimum of seven currently enrolled students, a full-time faculty or staff advisor and a constitution. The Club Start-up Manual sets forth the necessary policies and procedures.

Student Publications

Outlook Student Press is RCC’s official student newspaper. Students can get involved as staff writers, photographers and editors.

Impulse literary magazine highlights students’ poetry, photography and art.

Student Ambassador Program

Student Ambassadors volunteer at campus events and activities. The Student Ambassador Program meets every other Friday to provide leadership training and to ensure that students are well informed about College services. The hours volunteered through being a Student Ambassador can be associated with the Volunteer Service Program.
